Our Mission

Education, Enlightenment, Engagement

Through a part-time seminary at NoorOhio, Siraaj aims to provides Islamic education with a unified approach. Siraaj will provide intensive programs, curriculum development & teacher training to promote sacred knowledge in Columbus.

Fall & Spring

Graduate from the Part-Time Seminary by completing 8 core credits, 8 elective credits, and 4 Arabic credits. The seminary may be completed in a minimum of two years across four semesters. Students will also have the option to go at their own pace and complete it over a longer period.

January 12 - May 11

Seerah Part 2: The Mission of Madinah

This course will cover perspectives on major events in the Madinah period of the Prophet (S)’s life, along with practical lessons for our daily lives. Students are encouraged to do background reading on the whole time period in the Seerah, as this class will be discussion focused on specific topics.

Tuesday - 7PM

Journey to Certainty

This course will illustrate the journey of a seeker towards believing Islam wholeheartedly. It will cover common sources of doubt and controversy, dismantling each with traditional and contemporary approaches.

Arabic 102

This course focuses on expanding vocabulary and intermediate grammar skills through the study of Madina Arabic Reader 2 and Madina Arabic Reader 3. Students will deepen their understanding of sentence structures, verb forms, and essential language concepts, enabling them to read and comprehend more complex texts in Arabic. The course provides a solid foundation for advancing toward fluency and further Arabic studies.

The Science of Scripture

Uncover the basics of the extensive sciences of Quran and Hadith. Revelation, preservation, canonization, and transmission are all essential parts of the study of our tradition. Learn how scholars understand our divine religion.

Thursday- 7PM

Fiqh: Rulings of Rituals

This course covers essential topics in Fiqh. Issues of worship, including cleanliness, Salah, fasting, Zakah, and Hajj will be covered along with more basic principles of Divine Law. Every Muslim is encouraged to seek knowledge, specifically regarding their daily practice.

Thursday - 8:15PM

Tafsirah @ The Ohio State University

This course will be held at the Ohio State University campus (Enarson Room 326) in collaboration with the Muslim Students’ Association at OSU. The course will focus on explaining early Meccan Surahs of the Quran through the lens of the Seerah, combining the sciences of Tafsir and Seerah. The aim of the course is to provide students both a deeper understanding of the words of Allah, and a stronger emotional connection to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
